Jay-Z is the First Rapper to be Inducted Into the Songwriters Hall of Fame
Braking records and taking names is still the name of Jay-Z’s game. For years we’ve listened to Jay-Z’s music in awe of his lyrical genius and crazy word play and that talent has gained him the recognition he deserves. Yesterday, Jay-Z was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and not only that, he upped the ante being the first rapper to be inducted. The Songwriters Hall of Fame described Jay Z as an “accomplished lyricist,” recognized for his “remarkable wordplay.” Chance the Rapper took the time to congratulate on Twitter: S/o to my OGs, Jay Z and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, who were elected to the Songwriters Hall of Fame today.
